About Doug Buell
A fourth-generation Oregonian who built, ran, and sold a business.
Doug Buell is a fourth-generation Oregonian, raised on a small, rural farm. His early years began in the logging industry — work that taught him the value of effort, the rhythm of a long day, and the satisfaction of finishing something well.
He served in the United States Marine Corps, graduated from the University of Oregon, and went on to hold leadership roles with the Department of Defense. Over the years he built a career across leadership, management, sales, and business development — alongside founding businesses of his own.
In 2009, Doug founded Buell Recreation. He grew the company into a multi-state business and successfully sold it in 2020. The experience of building, operating, and transitioning a company is at the heart of how he advises others today.
Doug is also a Certified SCORE mentor and has worked with countless small business owners and aspiring entrepreneurs. He understands the journey from employee to owner because he lived it.
